HOPE stand for “Helping overcome Painful Experiences”. We use a book called “The 12 Steps, A Spiritual Journey” as a guide. Working in the book is encouraged but not required to attend. The purpose of the group is for Men to come together in community for support and encouragement in developing a healthy way of working through many of life’s difficulties. Many of the Men are dealing with an addictive lifestyle from drugs, alcohol and sexual issues. Others come for support in abusive pasts that have culminated into anger, co-dependant and relational issues.
We are unique in that we are open to any Man who wants to come for support and encouragement in ‘ANY’ area of life, and we believe that our program can bring help and healing to just about any situation in life. Unlike other 12 step programs we claim “Jesus Christ” as our higher power and use the Bible as our ultimate guide in life.
We would encourage you to come to 3 meetings and see if HOPE is a place where you can find support and encouragement in whatever your need is.
Weekend Missions began in April of 2004 with 2 guys making an exploratory trip to Rocky Point to begin a mission project for the group. The group received such great fulfillment from the trip experiences that they began sharing and growing this ministry, with others, the following year.
The meeting is held at Mountain Park Community Church at 2408 E. Pecos Road in Phoenix at 85048 every Tuesday evening from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm.
